Position Statement

The Joint Commercial Developers Association Position Statement regarding Joomla! Extensions with respect to the Joomla! License.

As our customers and Joomla! Extension users, we'd like you to know that:

• Based on expert legal advice, we assert that our extensions are not derivative of Joomla! and that they can be released under non-GPL compatible licenses.
• We will continue to work to provide our customers with high quality, affordable extensions.
• We will defend the rights of our end users to have access to those extensions.
• We will endeavour to ensure that the Core Team and OSM understand and respect the wishes of the whole Joomla Community so that it remains a leading CMS used by, and useful for, all websites both large and small.
• We continue to embrace Joomla as GPL and we agree that Joomla! should be protected from exploitative infringements of the GPL.
